Impact & Civic Initiatives

Connecting Investment, Culture, and Community Revitalization

In addition to investment advisory and development strategy, the platform supports national initiatives that combine heritage preservation, civic storytelling, and economic development.

These initiatives are advanced through partnerships with philanthropic organizations, cultural institutions, public agencies, and mission-aligned investors working together to strengthen historically significant communities across the United States.

Through the work of the Blanchard House Institute and the American Dream Fund platform, cultural heritage initiatives are connected with public-private partnerships designed to transform historic places into engines of economic revitalization, tourism development, and civic engagement.

Featured Platform

Blanchard House Institute (BHI) aims to support 250+ underinvested and rural communities impacted by Urban Renewal and historic neglect to address the gap where the American Dream has remained unfulfilled.

Across all sectors, BHI treats primary source materials, including archives, books, and oral histories, as foundational infrastructure for long term economic development. By converting local knowledge into durable source material, BHI supports application across heritage tourism, film and television, immersive media and games, food and music, and the built environment.

As an extension of the Blanchard House Museum founded in 2004, a charter member of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, BHI is advancing the American Dream Fund, a national capital and alignment framework, and a portfolio of heritage infrastructure platforms at the nexus of preservation, bipartisan collaboration, and economic development.

Current platforms include:

  • Book of Values: A primary source grounded framework for documenting community values and strengthening economic participation across generations.

  • Black Wall Street Trail

  • Seminole Maroon Freedom Trail

  • Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of Route 66 (w/National Trust for Historic Preservation)

  • Asian American Heritage Trail

  • Hispanic American Heritage Corridor

  • African Diaspora (Multiple projects)

Example of Impact

BHI’s work inspired the unanimous passage of Senate Bill 509 in both the Oklahoma House and Senate, establishing the Oklahoma Civil Rights Trail, unlocking more than $1.5 million in state support, and creating a dedicated vehicle to promote heritage tourism as a driver of economic development.
